Healing doesn’t follow a straight path, and it isn’t supposed to. Some people heal quietly, learning to breathe again without needing to explain. Others heal by speaking up, sharing in conversation and community, finally saying what they’ve held inside for years. Some look back, gently facing the moment things changed, until it feels less painful. Others move forward, choosing new habits, new people, and new boundaries.
At The Artistic Psychologist, our theme for 2026 is Healing in Colour. We believe healing is deeply personal, beautifully unique, and often hard to express in just one way.
Sometimes healing needs words. Other times, it needs a canvas, a melody, or movement. It might need a journal entry no one will ever read, or a poem written at 2 am that finally tells the truth. Sometimes, it takes courage to create something from what tried to break you.
We chose colour as our symbol because it lets us feel without needing to explain ourselves.
Some seasons are red, intense, raw, full of courage and anger and truth that can no longer be hidden.
Some seasons are blue, heavy, and honest. This kind of healing can look like grief, reflection, and letting yourself mourn what you’ve lost.
Some seasons are green, like when your body starts to feel safe again, and you begin to trust the world with small pieces of your heart.
Some seasons are yellow, when hope returns in small ways. You laugh and surprise yourself, and life starts to feel possible again.
Some seasons are purple, when you start to understand yourself. You stop asking “What’s wrong with me?” and begin to ask “What happened to me?”
Some seasons are soft pink, when vulnerability becomes strength and love is something you can accept without fear.
Sometimes healing is colorless for a while, not because nothing is happening, but because you are resting, recovering, and learning how to be.
Healing in Colour reminds us that expression isn’t extra, it’s essential. Expression is often the bridge between pain and release, confusion and clarity, surviving and finally living.
This year, we’re making space for every kind of healing. The messy, the quiet, the loud, and the slow. Healing that looks like art, boundaries, or choosing yourself again and again.
There’s no right way to heal. There’s only your way.
Whatever your healing looks like, we hope you give it space to exist, to take shape, and to become something you can carry with you.
Healing was never meant to be hidden.
It was meant to be expressed.
We can’t wait to see what healing becomes for all of us this year. We hope you’ll stay with us for the journey.
